The Pinnacle Panther basketball team had their season come to an end last Saturday at the hands of the Altamont Bulls. In the opening round of the playoffs, the Panthers hosted the Bulls in Price. The Panthers started strong but couldn’t hold up and Altamont earned the 66-59 victory.

The Panthers ended the season with a 9-11 and compiled a 2-6 region mark. Pinnacle closed out the season with the No. 16 spot in the RPI.

The Panthers were a relatively young team this season with only two seniors on the roster, the team is loaded with underclassmen.

Senior Cole Barton was one of the leaders of the Panthers and the state as he claimed the top spot for the season, scoring 27.7 points per game to lead across all classifications.

Pinnacle had an up-and-down season, starting with a win over Merit Prep, then followed up with three straight losses, followed by five straight wins. Pinnacle closed out the season going 3-7 the rest of the way.

Barton also led the team in field goal percentage at 56%. Sophomore Brody Howell led the team with 8.4 rebounds per game and Joey Howell, another sophomore led the team with 3.3 assists per contest.
