The opening season for boys volleyball got underway Thursday night on the road in Morgan. It was a tight contest, but in the end, the Dinos fell to the Trojans 3-0.

In March of last year, the Utah High School Activities Association added boys volleyball to the list of sanctioned sports.

The Dinos came out in the first set battling back and forth with the Trojans, but Morgan went on to take the first set 25-18.

In the second set, Carbon came out strong and was able to get a little closer but still fell 25-20. The third was more of the same, with the Dinos falling 25-16.

Kyler Orth collected four blocks in the contest, and Evan Lancaster added three, to go with his two kills. Jack Hedin had three kills and Eric Holt had two, to go with his three aces and two digs. Carter Warburton and Alexis Bueno had three digs each, and Zeke Wilson added two.

Carbon boys volleyball will host their first home game on Tuesday night when the Ogden Tigers come to town.

Ogden lost their first match as well a 3-1 loss to Ridgeline.

Gametime on Tuesday is set for 6:00 p.m..
