Dino baseball was back on the diamond on Tuesday to welcome North Sanpete. The Hawks tried to mount a comeback in the top of the seventh but Carbon was able to shut down the rally attempt to win 8-7.

Carbon is riding a three-game winning streak after suffering a loss to Uintah in the opening game of the season.

In the first two innings, the Dinos were able to put four runs on the board taking a 4-0 lead into the third. North Sanpete answered in the top of the inning, but Carbon was able to answer back in the bottom of the frame adding four runs of their own and reclaiming the lead 8-4.

The next few innings were quiet for both teams, but in the top of the sixth North Sanpete came to life getting the score to 8-5 then with a pair of outs and one swing of the bat, the Hawks cut the Dino lead to one. Carbon got the final out when Peyton Molinar grabbed a grounder and quickly tossed it to Paxton Falk for the final out securing the win.

Jace Barlow collected a pair of hits, adding two RBI’s and two runs scored. Tyrus Madsen added two hits, two runs scored, and one RBI. Maizen Prichard and Logan Bennett each collected a pair of hits in the win.

On the mound for the Dinos, Prichard got the start and the win, giving up just one hit and striking out four. Jaxson Ingram went two innings giving up three hits with four runs, three earned. Falk went to work on the mound for two innings as well surrendering one hit and striking out five, And Madsen went one inning giving up three earned runs.

The Dinos are headed to St. George to play in the Pineview Tournament taking on four teams in two days.

They will be back in Price to face Delta on March 20 at 3:00 p.m..
