The Lady Spartans welcomed the Lady Dinos to Castle Dale in the first of two region meetings this season. In the game the only time Emery ever trailed was going into the bottom of the second when they found themselves down by one, after that, they took over and behind Kallee Lake on the mound were able to take the 5-3 win.
Carbon sits at 1-2 overall with their only win coming off a road trip to Delta, where they earned an 18-2 win in a region contest. The Lady Spartans sit at 3-0, with wins over Providence Hall, and Region 12 members Manti and Carbon.
The first inning was a quiet one with both teams maybe just getting to know each other again. The Lady Dinos would get on the board first adding a run at the top of the second. Emery would tie them up adding a run of their own. The Lady Spartans kept Carbon off the board in the third, but they would add a pair of runs of their own when Lake sent a single to center driving in Madi Bunnelll and Bailey Luke, to take the 3-1 lead to the fourth.
Carbon had a run of their own in the inning from a bases-loaded walk that brought Danica Adams home, to cut the Emery lead to one.
The Lady Spartans had single runs in the fourth and fifth inning, and Carbon would add one more run in the top of the sixth, and that would be as close as they would get with Emery earning the 5-3 win.
