Hopefully we will begin to see warmer temperatures in the Castle Country area so we can start springtime clean up. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Carbon County Commissioner, Casey Hopes to talk about how the county will help residents with landfill fees.
“So Apr. 8 through Apr. 20 is our free landfill days, and it’s Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is just to encourage our community to hey, we know there’s always those projects, those things that we stacked up for a little while, let’s take care of those, let’s have a good, clean, community and this is an opportunity to do that, free of charge,” stated Commissioner Hopes. The two-week period will give community members enough time to get things taken care of around their yards this Spring.
Folks are urged to check on their elderly neighbors to see if they are in need of assistance with items at their home. “It’s also an opportunity to reach out to, again, the widow that is down the street or your neighbor or somebody. Maybe you go in on it, and you do a little bit of yard clean up, and help people around you, and let’s clean up our community,” said Commissioner Hopes. The landfill fee is waived and open to private residents living within the county boundaries.
The landfill is located at 2835 East Airport Road and if you have any questions, please call the Landfill at (435) 636-0005.
