After hosting the Farm Bureau Invitational on March 16, Dinos track and field traveled to Delta for a regional invitational. A total of nine schools brought teams to participate and at the end of the day the Lady Dinos earned the second spot and the boy’s team took fourth.
Coming off the first meet of the season the Dinos were ready to get back to the track, and Delta was as good a place as any. The Rabbits have traditionally had some of the top track teams in the state.
For the Lady Dinos, North Summit took the top spot with 180 points, and Carbon followed in second with 141. Delta, North Snapete, and Canyon View made up the remainder of the top five.
Carbon earned a pair of top-five finishes in a pair of relays. In the 4×100, the team of Amiah Timothy, Jordan Shorts, Mcklain Lowe, and Blythe Bradford finished in first place with a time of 51.79. In the 4×400, Rozlyn Stowe, Sophia Taylor, Gianna White, and Josie Jespersen claimed a fourth-place finish.
Stowe would once again claim a pair of top finishes in distance races with a first-place time of 5:20.26 in the 1600, and Taylor would finish behind her in second. In the 800, Stowe turned in the top time of 2:16.74, and Taylor claimed second as well. Stowe also earned a second-place finish in the 400 with White finishing third.
Freshman Blythe Bradford earned a third-place finish in the 100 followed by fellow Lady Dinos Lowe and Timothy in fourth and fifth. Lowe and Bradford would go second and fourth in the 200 and Rebecca Swasey came in fifth.
In field events, Timothy claimed a fourth-place finish in the long jump, and Bradford would finish right behind in fifth. Swasey claimed third in the Javelin and Brookleigh Unsworth took second in the discus.
For the boys, Juab earned first with 139 points, and North Summit claimed second. Host Delta claimed third, with Carbon and North Sanpete rounding out the top five.
Distances were good for the boys as well with Evan Criddle taking two first-place finishes in the 1600 with a time of 4:48.78, and Dallin Humes finishing in second. Criddle would also take first in the 800 turning in his time of 2:11.81, followed by Easton Humes in second and Dallin Humes in fifth. Easton Humes would go on to take the top spot in the 400 crossing the finish line with his time of 51.16.
