
After earning their first win of the inaugural season, the Carbon Dino boys volleyball team faced the Grantsville Cowboys in Price on Thursday, earning a single-set win but falling in the match 3-1.
On Tuesday the Dinos earned the first victory of the season against Wasatch Academy, sitting at 1-9 there have been a lot of growing pains this season.
On Thursday, they faced Grantsville, a team sitting at 6-5.
Carbon came out and earned the win in a hard-fought first set 27-25. The first set must have taken something out of the Dinos because the next three sets were all Grantsville, with Carbon losing ground in each.
The Cowboys took the second set 25-17. Moving into the third set it was the same story 25-14, and in the fourth and final set, Grantsville took the 25-13 win closing out the Dinos, and taking the 3-1 win.
Charles Tima earned eight kills in the loss, with three service aces, and seven digs. Jack Hedin added nine kills, Carter Warburton eight digs, Alexis Bueno six assists, and Connor Gleeve added three blocks.
The Dinos get back on the court when Layton Christian Academy comes to town on Tuesday.
Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
