
The Emery Lady Spartans remained unbeaten in Region 12 play with a lopsided 19-2 win over the Delta Rabbits Tuesday afternoon on the road.
Brooklyn Ekker pitched all four innings for Emery, allowing just two hits and two runs, while also fanning six batters.
Emery scored in each of the four innings, including a 12-run fourth inning that extended the lead to 17. As a team the Lady Spartans gathered 13 hits and managed to take advantage of nine Delta errors.
Ellie Stoker went yard for the first time this season as she finished 2-4 at the plate with four RBIs, two hits and one run. Katelyn Nielson knocked her third home run of the season as she finished 2-3 at the plate with three RBIs and a triple. Kali Jensen hit three singles in a 3-3 performance, while also registering three RBIs.
Emery sits at the top of the region standings with a perfect 5-0 mark in region play. During the five-game winning streak, the Lady Spartans outscored their region opponents 67-20. Three of the five wins have also come by double-digits.
Tuesday’s game is the first of three region tilts this week for Emery. Up next will be a road matchup with the Canyon View Falcons on Wednesday afternoon. The week will end with a home game against the North Sanpete Hawks on Friday.
