The Lady Dinos were on the road Wednesday as they traveled to face the Lehi Pioneers in a non-region contest. Carbon was on the scoreboard first with one run in the second, but the Pioneers used a seven-run third to put the Dinos away taking the 12-4 win.
Carbon is sitting at 6-5 overall and holds a 4-1 mark in Region 12 play.
The Dinos were the first to score putting up one run in the top of the second and were able to keep the Pioneers off of the board until the bottom of the third when Lehi created offense earning seven runs in the inning and four more in the bottom of the fourth to push the score to 10-1.
In the top of the fifth Brielle Sandoval stepped up with two on and sent a three-run homer over the left-field wall driving Kennlee Kennedy and Kylan Sorenson home to cut the score to 10-4, but that is where the Dino rally would end and Lehi would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth and then held the Lady Dinos scoreless to take the 12-4 win.
Sandoval had three RBIs on one hit and added one run scored, and Taylor Secor earned one hit and one RBI in the loss.
