005-4

The Carbon boy’s volleyball team was back at it on Friday night on the road to face Layton Christian Academy.  Last Tuesday the Eagles were in Price earning a 3-0 win over the Dinos, on Friday the scenery changed but the result did not as the Dinos were handed another 3-0 loss.

The loss on Friday moves the Dinos to 1-11 this season, they will get their region season underway next Tuesday when they will face Judge Memorial Catholic on the road.

Carbon couldn’t find their footing in the contest with Layton Christian. In the first two sets the Dinos would score the same points in both taking 25-10 losses. In the third and final set, Carbon pushed the issue, making things a bit more competitive but falling 25-17 and giving the Eagles the straight-set win.

Alexis Bueno got things done with three service aces and three assists for the Dinos, Charles Tima had three kills and added five digs to his stat line. Jack Hedin added three kills and Evan Lancaster had three assists in the loss.

The Dinos will take the spring break holiday and won’t be back on the court until Tuesday, March 9, when they begin region play on the road in Salt Lake to face Judge Memorial.

They won’t play at home until April 16, when they welcome Juan Diego to Price for a region contest.
