Jordan Blanc has been named head coach of the Carbon High School girls’ basketball program. It was announced by Athletic Director Ted Bianco Friday afternoon.

Blanc, a 2013 graduate of Carbon High School, served as an assistant coach under Jared Butler for the boy’s program this past season. Prior to his time at Carbon, Blanc was the head coach of three athletic programs at Mont Harmon Middle School.

“Since 2005 this program has won nine region titles, two state championships and two academic state titles,” said Blanc Monday on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports. “I am just thrilled to step into this program. Don Gressman, Bruce Bean, Ted Bianco, and Cami Carlson have all played a part in putting this culture together. My job is just to continue the legacy that this program has.”

After graduating from Carbon High School, Blanc obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Utah State University. In 2018 he accepted a teaching position at Mont Harmon Middle School where he would go on to become the head coach for boys’ basketball, football, and track and field. In 2022 he also served as athletic director for the school.

Blanc made the transition from Month Harmon to Carbon High School this past summer.

Friday’s announcement comes following the resignation of former head coach Cami Carlson last month. Carlson held the position for a combined eight seasons and finished with 137 wins, two region championships and one state championship appearance.

“Coach Carlson has done just a fantastic job with this program, so I’m walking into a great situation,” said Blanc. “Our schedule is already complete for this next season. So now I have just got to start building out my assistant coaches.”

Blanc will begin the process of finding four assistant coaches for the upcoming the season. That process is expected to begin shortly.
