Carbon baseball has remained pretty active during the spring break holiday. On Tuesday they were in Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons, coming up just short 4-3. On Thursday, the Falcons came to Price and it was a different result as the Dinos earned a 9-2 win.

With the win, Carbon moves to 10-4 overall and 5-1 in region play, but more importantly, the victory over No. 2 Cayon View puts them in the No. 3 spot in the RPI.

Carbon would put one run on the board in the bottom of the first and then their bats would go quiet until the bottom of the fifth when they woke up big time.

Tyrus Madsen came to the plate with two on and no outs and sent a hard double to left field bringing around Logan Madrigal and Cameron Vasquez, pushing the score to 3-1. Later in the inning with the score 6-1, Jace Barlow came up to the plate with two on and sent a homerun shot over the left field wall, clearing the bases as Rydge Butler and Peyton Molinar came home to get the score to 9-1. Canyon View would add one more in the top of the seventh as the Dinos collected the 9-2 win.

Barlow had a pair of hits, the homerun, a double, three RBIs, and scored a run for Carbon. Madsen collected a double, scored a run, and had three RBIs. Vasquez and Butler each had a pair of hits and a run scored in the victory.

Maizen Prichard got the start and earned the win for Carbon on the mound going five innings allowing just one hit, one run, and striking out seven. Maddex Willson came in to close things out with two innings of work, surrendered just two hits, and one earned, and fanned three.
