The Dinos volleyball squad opened region play on Tuesday on the road in Salt Lake when they faced Judge Memorial Catholic. Carbon came away with a 3-2 win in a match that went the distance.

Carbon is now 2-11 overall and holds a 1-0 mark in Region 2 play.  The win also moved them to No. 11 in the latest RPI up one spot from their initial place.

The opening set the tone for the rest of the match as Judge Memorial returned with a 25-19 win. Carbon came back in the next two sets taking set two 25-22 and then again in set three they took a 25-18 win.

Judge Memorial returned in the fourth set, barely taking the 25-22 win over the Dinos. Carbon would shut the door on the Bulldogs in the fifth and final set with an 18-16 win.

Carter Warburton was on top of things collecting 33 digs in the contest, Charles Tima added 14 and earned 15 kills for Carbon. Evan Lancaster had 18 assists and Alexis Bueno had 17, Bueno also had five service aces. Jack Hedin had 13 kills in the Carbon win.

Next up for the Dinos is a road trip to Mount Pleasant on Thursday. The Hawks are sitting in the No. 5 spot in the RPI with a 7-8 overall record.
