Barbara Hogan Terry, age 78, passed away peacefully in Price, Utah on April 13, 2024.

Barbara was born in Lake Point, Utah to Art and Fern Clement Hogan on March 27, 1946.  Barbara (Bob) graduated from Tooele High school and then attended Ex-Cel-Cis  Beauty College where she obtained a beautician’s license.  She later moved to Hawaii and was a beautician at the Illikai Hotel.

She met her husband Dale in Lake Point, Utah at a sacrament meeting where Dale was the guest speaker.  Dale was invited by his missionary companion Jerry Davies to speak.  There was a terrible snowstorm and Dale was reluctant to go; however, Elder Bruce R. McConkie, who was having lunch with the Terry’s that day, told Dale he was going to deliver his message. Barbara was sure glad he made the trip. They were engaged that same year on Easter Sunday, 1967 and married on June 16th in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder Gordon B. Hinkley. The couple would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in June.

Barbara loved to take care of her many cats. Pumpkin, Pug and Shorty were her favorites.  She loved to be in her kitchen baking cookies and lasagna.  She also enjoyed caring for the plants in the dental office.  Barbara had a heart of gold  and was always accommodating and comforting to the needs of their patients.  She always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in a number of callings, including Mia Maid teacher and primary teacher. Barbara loved being around her nephews and nieces; she was always happy to see her family.  She spent considerable time driving to and from Tooele taking care of her father over many years. She was grateful when the opportunity came to move him to Price, and she could accommodate his needs on a daily basis.  Barbara worked as Dale’s dental assistant for 48 years.

Barbara is survived by her husband Dale, brother and sisters in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Art and Fern; and older brothers, Byron and Lynn.
