Carbon soccer got back to the pitch Friday welcoming in the Richfield Wildcats. The Dinos jumped out fast on the Wildcats putting six goals up in the first half, and then played through the second half to take the 10-2 win.
Carbon holds a 10-1 overall record this season with the lone loss coming from the No. 1 team in 3A, the Manti Templars, who also reside in the same region as the Dinos, who sit at No. 3 in the latest RPI.
Carbon came out firing in the first half finding the back of the net six times taking a 6-1 lead into halftime. The second half was more Dinos as they got home four more times to take the final 10-2.
Case Griffeth scored three goals for Carbon. Tyler Morris and Connor Cunningham each scored twice with Morris adding three assists. Logan McEvoy, Mason Engar, and Luke Brady each had one goal, McEvoy added four assists and Brady had one. Sam Dart also had an assist in the Dino rout.
Carbon has three contests left in the regular season none more important than Wednesday’s contest with the Templars. On March 22, the Templars blanked the Dinos 4-0 in Price, and a win against Manti would go a long way for Carbon.
