025-3

The Carbon Dinos registered just one hit in a five inning, 10-0 loss to the Juab Wasps Tuesday night in Nephi.

Juab pitcher Austin Park was dominant as he fanned six of the 16 batters faced in the complete game performance. The win moves Park to 4-0 on the mound, while dropping his season ERA to 1.24.

Maizen Prichard logged Carbon’s lone hit as he finished 1-2 at the plate, running his season batting average to .418. Prichard added a stolen base to his stat line but was left stranded in scoring position.

The game was locked in a scoreless tie heading into the third inning. Juab took complete control with a nine-inning frame, then closed the show with one more run in the bottom of the fifth.

Park helped his own cause at the plate as he finished 2-3 with two doubles and four RBIs. As a team the Wasps logged 10 hits and played error free baseball in the field.

Tuesday’s loss drops Carbon to 6-3 in Region 12 play and 11-6 overall. Trailing Juab and Canyon View by two in the loss column, the Dinos will have an opportunity to respond when they return to the field on Friday.

Carbon will take the next two days off before hosting Juab for the regular season series finale on Friday. Start time for the home tilt is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
