Devoted husband, loving father, faithful friend, and stalwart servant, Gabriel George Vlamakis (Gabe), after a courageous battle with cancer, left his earthly body on April 17, 2024, to walk into the waiting arms of his beloved son Stephen, his parents, and his brother, who all passed before him. He was 73.

Gabe was born August 30, 1950, to George and Tassia Vlamakis in Helper, Utah, where he lived his life to the fullest. He started his 40-plus year career with Utah Power & Light Company in Salt Lake and shortly after he bid on, and got, a job in the Price office, which enabled him to move back to his hometown of Helper. Once a Helper boy, always a Helper boy! Shortly after moving back, he met and married Sherrie Johnson, his wife of 50 years. His life took on a new meaning when eight years later their son Stephen was born, and 11 years after that they were blessed with another son, Christopher. His family was everything to him.

Gabe survived devastating loss and heartbreak, but maintained his faith that all would be okay, somehow. He was a great man and will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

Gabe is survived by his wife, Sherrie; son, Christopher; niece, Kathy Connors; nephew, Michael Vlamakis; in-laws and a community of friends.

Preceded in death by his son, Stephen; parents, George and Tassia; brother, Mike; and father and mother-in-law, Don and Eunice Johnson.

In loving memory of Gabriel George Vlamakis. MAY HIS MEMORY BE ETERNAL.
