The 24th Annual Cabin Fever Poker Ride will take place on Saturday, April 27 with registration taking place from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Event Representative, Jerace Glover to discuss all the details.

As you drive out to Buckhorn Wash the registration booth will take place at the corrals. Individuals can bring their ATV, UTV or motorcycle out for this great family event. “No pre-registration is required. Basically, if you show up between 8:00 am and 11:00 am, you can buy your poker hands and you can leave from there when you buy them. So if you show up at 8:00 am you can buy your hands and you can go do the ride, then hang out. You can come at 11:00 am and get your tickets still as long as you’re there before 11:00 am,” stated Glover. The cost for the first hand is $10.00, and then $5.00 for each additional hand. Prizes will then be awarded at the registration area at 3:15 pm that afternoon.

A lot of people who participate in the Poker Run make a weekend out of it as there is dry camping available in and around the event area. “Get out, it’s good Spring weather, hopefully. Come out and enjoy, there will be several of us out there camping. You know we’ll be out there Thursday night, Friday night, we’ll have the Poker Ride on Saturday, and we’ll actually also have a little ride on Sunday too if people want to stay and ride there,” said Glover. Castle Country OHV Association prides itself on hosting events where alcohol is strictly prohibited on the ride, this is to ensure that everyone is being safe out on the trails.

If you would like further information and/or directions to the event, Glover explains how to access that, “So the easiest way is just off the Castle Country OHV Association Facebook page, there’s an event tab, it has all the details, the flyers. There are also several flyers posted around town and different businesses and what not; its just a QR Code if you want, it will link you right to Google Maps to give you the pin of where registration is at.” There will also be signs alongside the road directing folks to the registration area.
