This year’s Price City Culture Connection schedule is going to bring in some great music on Thursday evenings during the summer months. One thing that folks should be aware of is that the Price City Culture Connection concerts will be moved to Washington Park this year. This will allow guests and performers to have a cooler venue with all the shade from the park’s trees during those hot summer concert evenings.
However, this year’s first performance will be held at the Carbon County Fairgrounds as Price City Culture Connection will kick off the Carbon County Fair. The group taking the stage will be an Elton John and Billy Joel Tribute band. “It’s a great songbook, you know some of the best songs in the history of popular music and it’s a Thursday night we think it’s a great way to kick-off the events at the county fairgrounds and we think people are really going to enjoy this, it’s just such a great song book,” said Event Coordinator, Ted Hinckley. There will be other musical performances held during the county fair such as the Battle of the Bands competition and the Due West concert.
The first concert at Washington Park will be held on June 13 and will feature Peter Breinholt. “You know kind of a Utah performing legend, he’s been doing it for about 30 years and has been very popular. I thought he was a great kick-off for Culture Connection and so when I had the chance to book him for it I jumped at it,” said Hinckley. Then on June 20 it will be Cheri Call, followed by Davey and The Midnights on June 27 with each group taking the stage at 7:00 pm till 8:30 pm.
On July 4 Culture Connection will switch venues again to the Carbon County Fairgrounds for a huge Fourth of July Celebration. There will be two bands set to take the stage on this night, Mountain Country and Route 89. “Both I think people are really going to enjoy them. Mountain Country fronted by a guy named, Jim Fish. Definitely, on the country side of things. Then Route 89 is a classic rock band that will go perfectly into the end of the show and they can play some classic rock while we do the fireworks,” explained Hinckley. Then on July 11 move back to Washington Park for a Tribute to the Highway Men whose music includes songs by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash. The Deltaz will perform on July 18 and then on July 25 it will be the opening ceremonies for Price City’s International Days celebration with Los Hermanos De Los Andes. Then the final two concerts will be held on August 1 with the Rachel Rivers Band and August 8 with Wayne Hoskins Band.
