Laurel Kay Hales, age 85, born February 21, 1939, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024.

Laurel married Billy Hales on June 15, 1996 in Texas.

Kay (as she like to be called) had a love for collecting knick-knacks; like, frogs and dolls as well as crafts like, plastic canvas and counted cross stitch. She also had a love for the color green.

She is survived by her husband, Billy of Murray, Utah; son, John (Annette) of Missoula, Montana; daughter, Emma (Ralph) of Salt Lake City, Utah; step-daughter, Joni (Jonica) of Murray, Utah; sisters, Anita and Barbara; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Wilson; step-father, Elmer Kramer; and her son, Kelly.

The family would like to thank the staff of the University of Utah and CNS Hospice for their excellent care.

Graveside service, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 10:00 a.m., Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery (6500 South Redwood Road) in West Jordan, Utah. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 9:50 a.m. prior to the service at the Mortuary onsite.
