The warmer temperatures will bring on lots of county events like the County Fair and SPX Geocaching Tour both of which are coming up very soon. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Carbon County Commissioner, Casey Hopes to talk about all the details.

Officials from the county have been very busy planning this year’s Carbon County Fair and instead of it closing out the summer it’s been moved to May 30 through June 1 to be the kick off for the summer season. “Its May 30 through Jun. 1 and there are tons of things going to happen through the fair. There’s bull riding, and Hypno Hick, and Due West is going to come and have a concert, and just tons of exhibitors and different things going on. It’s going to be awesome,” said Commissioner Hopes. This year’s theme for the county fair is Better Than Before and in looking at the schedule there is sure to be something appealing to everyone.

The 2024 SPX Geocaching Tour will hit the area on June 1 this event is open to everyone in the community. “If you don’t know what SPX is Stewardship Preservation and Exploration and geocaching is what it’s all about. It’s an opportunity to go out and see some of the really cool places in our community. It’s kind of a contest, to go out and see who can find all of the geocaches. It starts Jun. 1 at 9:00 am in the parking lot of USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum,” said Commissioner Hopes. Guests will be able to enjoy some free donuts and coffee before the geocaching begins. There will be a chance to win $1,000.00 in prizes, plus there will be some incentives to attend the fair afterwards.

The county has also put out posters with all the live entertainment events taking place this summer. “I’m super excited for it too, I mean, you can’t say there’s nothing for you to do in Carbon County in the Corridor. With all the music that is happening and all the different events, every city has events, even down in Emery County. There’s just something all summer long for you to do and with all this music, you can just sit back and chill, and have a good time,” said Commissioner Hopes.
