Charles Jarvis Martin, 76, was surrounded by his family May 4, 2024 when he left his earthly mission to continue his mission in Heaven.

On February 17, 1948, Chuck was born in Grass Valley, California, the oldest of three children of Ashton Kirk and Thelda Dean Craw Martin.  Charles shared a deep love for his siblings and they stayed in touch as much as possible. He would always say how beautiful his sister, Linda Tolman, was.

At the age of 12, Chuck started an apprenticeship with a gun smith and he later went to college to become a dentist.  He met his first wife, Suzie, in high school and they were later married in the Oakland California Temple; Charles and Suzie had five children together prior to their divorce.  In 1983, he met his eternal soulmate, Sarah Marrott, and later married in Elko, Nevada; soon becoming a blended family and eventually having two more kids of their own.

He had many friends wherever he went.  Chuck had a big heart and would try to help anyone in need, even if it meant taking his shirt off his own back.  He was a humble man who was willing to teach anyone if they needed it.  He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time outdoors, while sharing this love with his children.  He loved working on guns and was an accomplished gunsmith up until the past five years, when his health wouldn’t allow him any longer.  He was a fighter, who beat cancer twice; he also had COPD, diabetes, and congestive heart failure, but he never let that stop him. He was a hero in the eyes of many and taught others to be a better father.  He always gave the best advice and was always there to make you laugh.  Chuck was always cracking jokes, right up to the very end.  He never wanted anyone to feel sad and always wanted everyone to know that he was happy and will always be with us.  Please keep a prayer in your heart and follow Jesus Christ, “See you high on the mountain tops Daddy”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Martin, Columbia, children, Melisa Laston, East Carbon, Ashton (Tamra) Martin, Price, Keddy Martin, Price, Trista Allred, Price, Kirk (Christina) Martin, Price, Dustin Curtis, Nephi, Chaz (Anthony) Acosta, NV, Misty Mendez, AZ, Megan (Corey) Taylor, AZ, Jeremy (Karla) Curtis, East Carbon; sister, Linda Tolman, NV; sister-in-law, Shari (Gene) Madrid, Sunnyside; 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Joseph Chad Martin; brother, Robert Lee Martin, uncles Chad Martin and Andrew Anderson; cousin, Mike Martin; nephew, Jesse Lee Madrid; and many other relatives on the Martin, Craw, Anderson and Allred sides of the family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Thayn, Dr. David Thayn, and the staff at Castleview Hospital and Pinnacle Care and Rehabilitation for your excellent care.  Also, a special thanks to Angela and the staff from Rocky Mountain Care for always being at Chuck’s side.
