Wendy Sharp Bentley, a beautiful, witty, smart-mouthed woman, passed away in the early morning of May 4, 2024 near her childhood home of Murray, Utah. She was born to Velta and Don Sharp on May 24, 1960, as the youngest of four children.

Wendy’s journey here on earth began in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she grew up with her siblings, Lori, Vaughn, and Michelle. Her childhood was spent in a home that faced the beautiful foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. With long blonde hair and bronzed skin she spent her summers mingling in Murray Park with her friends, which is where she met the love of her life and eternal companion, Kevin Bentley. She married Kevin at the young age of 15 on Valentine’s Day in 1976. Thereafter, she dedicated her life and heart to him and to the mothering of their three children, Anngee, Nichole, and Christopher. Together with Kevin’s parents, the family was later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.

As a young mother, Wendy was always known at the “Cool Mom” by her children’s friends. She picked her kids up from school in her red thunderbird with trending music blaring loud. Many memories were had in that car with license plates branded with her favored name “Bree-Z.” Breazy was the nickname her father-in-law gave her when she met Kevin. She loved it and adopted it. It always put a smile on her face when she told the story of how she acquired it.

Wendy’s smile was not only beautiful, but also infectious and inviting. She had a tender heart and was known for loving children and animals. She was born a fighter with a kind and giving spirit who advocated for those who were mistreated. She was a “boss” and loved managing things whether it be her home, money, Kevin or a video store; she enjoyed being in charge of anything. She loved reading, embroidering, and making receiving blankets and quilts for her children and grandchildren that they will forever cherish.

Wendy’s memory is honored by her devoted husband, Kevin Bentley; her children, Anngee (Rod) Dreiling, Nichole (Jeremy) Bakelar, and Christopher; grandchildren, Kegan, Berkleah, Gage, Kyler, Carsen, Zayne, Porter, and Paxton; sister, Lori; brother, Vaughn; along with her loving in-laws, who also survive her.

Preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Michelle.

Wendy’s life was a testament of sacrifice and love. She was a teacher of forgiveness and loved Jesus with all of her heart, mind and soul. Her earthly presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
