The Carbon Lady Dinos completed the 2024 golf season with a 12th place finish at the 3A state championship meet Thursday afternoon at the Meadow Brook Golf Course in Salt Lake City.
Carbon finished day one with a team score of 421, missing the cut for the second and final day by just three strokes. While the team’s season ended, Carly West, Kaylynn Black and Grace Simms all qualified for the final day, representing Carbon as individuals.
West earned a 15th place finish individual as she shot an 87 and 89, ending with a two-day total of 176. West was just six-strokes back of a top ten individual finish.
Kaylynn Black ended up in a tie for 34th place after trimming five-strokes off her day one total. Black wrapped up the first round with a 102 and managed to wrap up the season on a positive with a 97.
Grace Simms also earned a top 50 finish as she claimed 43rd place. Simms ended day one with a 103 and followed up with a 101 on the final day of competition.
