Eastern Utah Broadcasting is proud to present a series of meet-the-candidates events for local elections on June 3, 6, 10 and 11. All events will feature questions from the public for the candidates to answer.

On June 3, the candidates for Carbon County Assessor will meet in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center on the campus of Utah State University Eastern at 5 p.m. This event features Amy Schmidt-Peters (Republican) and current Carbon County Assessor Gillian Bishop.

Next on June 6, the Republican candidates for the state legislature representing District 67 will meet in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at USUE at 5 p.m. Speaking to the public here will be Tom Hansen and incumbent representative Christine Watkins.

On June 10, the candidates for Emery County Commissioner will meet in the Spartan Center at Emery High School at 5 p.m. Speaking at this event are candidates Dennis R. Worwood (Republican), Travis Bacon (Republican) and David H. Sebring (Republican).

And finally, on June 11, candidates for Carbon County Commissioner will meet. This event will again be held at USUE in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at 5 p.m. This final slate includes Jarrod Haddock (Republican), Max Jones (Republican) and Paul Riddle (Republican).

Eastern Utah Broadcasting is still accepting questions for the candidates in all of these events. If you have a question for any of these races, you can email them to election2024@koal.net.
