The Genesis Pregnancy Center (GPC) is hosting a Game Night fundraiser on Saturday, Jun. 22 at the Notre Dame Hope Center at 185 North Carbon Avenue. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with GPC Representative, Monica Lambert to get all the details.
“We’re having a game night on Jun. 22, it’s going to be at the Hope Center which is at 185 North Carbon Avenue from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be some food to keep people going, popcorn and we’re also going to be giving away prizes,” said Lambert. This is a great way for GPC to give back to the community while trying to raise funds for their cause. They are a wonderful resource to have in our community, especially for first time parents.
GPC is a faith-based non-profit organization who is committed to providing a safe place to those in need of information and support during pregnancy and beyond. They offer free pregnancy tests, peer counseling, adoption referrals, pre-natal and parenting classes. “We’re adding a new class to all of that, and it’s our Fatherhood Series. As we know when, especially when you’re pregnant the first time, kids don’t come with an owner’s manual and you don’t know how to get through it and this Fatherhood Series, we like to involved the dads, it’s not always just about the moms. How they can support the mom through the pregnancy and labor and delivery and how they can help out when they bring baby home,” said Lambert. The Fatherhood Series helps dad strengthen his relationship with baby.
Right now GPC is looking for monthly sponsors to help with their cause and those individuals wishing to help can do so by visiting their website. “They can go to our website https://gpcenter.org/ you can go over to donate on that. It is just $25.00 a month, it’s going to help out and pay for our new classes, and a lot of new programs that we have coming up,” stated Lambert. They also are seeking donations of baby items and clothes for both baby and momma, as well as diapers and wipes. This is to stock their in-house baby store.
