The track and field season officially ends this Saturday at the State Championships which will be held at Brigham Young University starting Thursday. Carbon had 32 athletes qualify in both the boy’s and girl’s divisions.

The Lady Dinos have four runners in the 100 with Mia Crompton, Brooklyn Lowe, Blythe Bradford, and Jordan Shorts all qualified.  Crompton will also compete in the 200. Josie Jespersen qualified for the 300-meter hurdles, and Gianna White will run in the 400.

In distances, Rozlyn Stowe qualified for the 800, 1600, and 3200. Sophia Taylor will take part in the 800 and 1600 for the Lady Dinos.

The Dinos will field three relay teams as well. In the 4×100, Crompton, Bradford, Lowe, and Jordan Shorts will compete. The team of White, Taylor, Bradford, and Rebecca Swasey will compete in the 4×400, and the sprint relay team of Lowe, Crompton, White, and Taylor will compete as well.

In field events, Swasey qualified in the javelin, while Bradford, Shorts, and Amiah Timothy will compete in the long jump, and Emily Dufour will take part in the high jump.

For the boys, Riley Palmer will take part in the 110-meter hurdles, Easton Humes qualified in both the 400 and the 800.

The Carbon boys qualified in two relays in the 4×400, Bradley Sweeney, Evan Criddle, Maxwell Carlson, and Humes will compete, in the sprint relay Benjamin Simms, Ethan Prettyman, Carlson, and Humes will represent the Dinos.

Traxton Jewkes, Prettyman, and Dexter Packard will be a part of the long jump, and Jewkes and Carter Branch will compete in the high jump.

Everything gets underway Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude Saturday afternoon.
