Creekview Elementary was highlighted on this week’s Carbon School District weekly update so School Representatives, Grace Guitierrez and Gracie Hansen stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss how the school celebrated it reaching its reading levels.

The school set its goal at the beginning of the school year and working all year long to achieve that success. “The goal was to have 65 percent of the students on grade level. It turned out really well, we ended up getting to 75 percent,” said Hansen. The students worked very hard to go above the set goal.

The administration sets this goal by looking at the school as a whole. “We look at it from a school level and we also look at it from classroom levels. The school has a goal, each classroom has a goal, grade level has a goal, and then we access and work on reaching our goals,” said Guitierrez. She said the hard work of faculty members who assisted students each day assisted in reaching the schools goal as well.

The administration is so proud of the students accomplishments that they organized a parade to recognize all the students. “So we had that on Monday, and the kids got to walk down the street, with their parents coming; parents made signs and we had lots of people there and it was super, super amazing,” explained Hansen. The parade took place on the roads near the school and students loved being able to show off their accomplishments.

Creekview Elementary thanks its students for working so hard this year and hopes they have a great summer.
