002-13

The Lady Spartan golf team battled its way through canceled and re-scheduled matches this season, but in the end, they successfully secured a top-ten finish in the 3A State Golf Championships.

Earning a sixth-place finish in the Region 12 tournament at Meadow Brook, the Lady Spartans would return a couple of weeks later to earn eighth place in the State Championships closing out the 2023-2024 season.

Recently, Coach Kasey Edgehouse was a guest on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports and was asked where they go next year after the success this season.

“We’ve got some work to do. Like I said our No. 2 golfer this year and our No. 1 finisher in state was a freshman (Brandee Larceval), so she’s got a lot that she can learn. She’s just a strong girl, she’s got to keep her head on her and continue to work and she should be a big improvement. I have Claire Lindsey coming back next year, and I’ve got a couple of younger girls that are going to be coming that have been softball players, that I think are going to transition over into golf, it’s a hard transition but the swing is there and the strength is there, so hopefully we can work with those girls throughout the summer.”

Below are the articles about each match this season.

Juab- Canyon Hills

The first match of the season was supposed to be held at Delta and was canceled due to the weather. Match two was scheduled to take place at Richfield and will be rescheduled, so the match on Tuesday was the first of the season.

“For us honestly it’s probably Millsite. The four teams that have just come into our region, they’ll really struggle, especially because they haven’t come over and played a practice round. This will be their biggest challenge of the year.”

Throughout the remainder of the season, there will be two matches a week.
