Bowdy Scott Blanton, affectionately known as “Precious”, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Bowdy was born October 10, 1990 in Price, Utah to Dennis L. and Marie A. Escoubat Blanton.  As the youngest of six boys, Bowdy faced many medical challenges throughout his life. What he lacked in abilities, he more than made up for with determination and spirit. He had an uncanny knack for poor timing and was always on the move. In his short life, he overcame numerous obstacles that would have made many people give up. Whenever Bowdy was told he couldn’t do something, he went out of his way to prove everyone wrong.

As a young boy, Bowdy was doted on by his older brothers. Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of five, he didn’t let that slow him down. He raced BMX bikes, enjoyed riding horses, and loved spending time with his dad. He attended the Castle Valley Center for most of his educational journey. Despite his learning disabilities, Bowdy enjoyed hunting with his brothers; it took him many attempts to pass Hunter’s Safety, but his persistence paid off when he bagged a record-book antelope.

Despite his setbacks, Bowdy was determined to live a normal life. He even got his driver’s license. He earned his GED and went on to try his hand at various jobs, including being a shop hand at Original Creations, a plumbing apprentice at Ruggeri’s Plumbing, an HVAC technician at Airtemp Heating and Cooling, and a coal miner at Skyline Mine.

Though he never married, Bowdy had many meaningful relationships throughout his life. He knew and loved everyone, and he especially adored his nieces and nephews. Bowdy loved Facetiming his family and had an extensive network of friends.

Bowdy indulged in many hobbies. He was a member of the Price Kiwanis Club, eventually serving as its president. He was an avid bowler, a dedicated trainer of many breeds of hunting dogs, a derby car enthusiast, and, quite frankly, a royal pain in the ass.

He is survived by his mom, Marie Blanton, and his five brothers, D.J., Rickie, Timmy (Hilary), Danny (Patricia), and David (Amy). As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, Dennis Blanton, his grandparents, Dominick and Ernestine Escoubat, Paul and Beverly Smith, and Elmo Blanton, as well as many other beloved family members.

The family would like to thank Bowdy’s healthcare professionals, Dr. Madsen, Dr. Lindsay, and Dr. Gagon.
