Our beloved mother, grandmother and longtime resident of Carbon County, Rosina Nigro Siaperas, passed peacefully May 23, 2024, at Sagewood at Daybreak in South Jordan at 89 years of age.
She was born January 11, 1935 in Columbia, Utah to Frank and Carmella Saccomanno Nigro. She married Andrew Pete Siaperas in 1955 and they later divorced. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank; mother, Carmella; son, Greg Siaperas; and a sister, Mary Ann Shippert.
Rosina is survived by her son, Mike Siaperas of South Jordan, Utah, granddaughter, (Mike) Cassie Nelson of Montana, daughter-in-law, (Greg) Kim Siaperas of Nebraska as well as numerous other loving family members.
Rosina was the heart of everyone that was in her life. She was the most caring and amazing mother and friend anyone could ask for. She raised two boys, Greg and Mike, to be independent and thoughtful adults in a happy and loving home. She was always so proud of both her sons. As a grandmother to Cassie, she was the “loving Nonna,” taking her on exciting outings and spoiling her rotten. Cassie was her pride and joy.
Rosina’s father Frank Nigro passed away when she was 12, leaving his wife Carmella and Rosina’s sister Mary Ann to learn that life isn’t always easy. That same work ethic is what she instilled in both of her sons. Rosina was extremely close to her mother and sister and loved them dearly. In 2017, she lost her oldest son Greg, which was something she never fully recovered from. Since then, her only wish was to pass peacefully before her other son Mike.
Rosina excelled in everything she did. She loved playing basketball with the nuns at Norte Dame School, to running her dream business, Mimi’s Fashion in Price. She worked most of her life and was always cherished by anyone she came in contact with. She was a very hard worker and always went the extra mile for anyone she loved. One of her favorite times in her life was her very last job after retirement which was working with both her sons in Mike’s business, Med USA.
Later in life, Rosina had many people that cared for her like family. While she was still in Price, Charity Kiahtipes was like a daughter to her and a best friend. The family can never say enough thanks to her for the love and compassion that Charity gave Rosina. When she moved to Salt Lake to be closer to her son, Mike, Kelsea McGregor took the reins and loved and cared for her every day, until the last day. These two ladies will have a very special place in heaven waiting for them. Also, a huge thanks to all the people at Sagewood at Daybreak that provided so much love for her. She loved them all.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 31, 2024, 5:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Rosina will be laid to rest at the “Range Valley Ranch” above Sunnyside, Utah, near Bruin Point at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Rosina online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
