A former employee of Pinnacle Canyon Academy has been accused of illegally embezzling money from the school and arrested by local authorities.

Human Relations employee Kalisa Lynn Fish was arrested on Wednesday for an investigation of misuse of public funds and theft. Administrators from the school claim that Fish has stolen around $114,500 since she began working for the school.

According to the school, this was done through a “special line” on the payroll set aside for employees who worked to help with after-school activities. According to an affidavit first acquired by KSL, Fish had been adding pay into her paycheck despite the fact she,” does not have another position within the school and should not be receiving any additional wages.”

The arrest report for the incident states that after school administrators confronted Fish about the missing money, the school reportedly received a call from Fish’s mother, who asked the school officials if they could, “work something out” and pay the money back to the school.

The affidavit also reveals that Fish allegedly started doing this in 2020 due to being in a “financial crisis” but that she then continued to take the extra money.

The affidavit states, “There is no denial or claims of a misunderstanding. Rather just a request to be able to pay the school, which heavily implies there are funds that need to be paid back.”

Castle Country Radio will provide updates to the story as they become available.
