Castle Country Radio had the opportunity to chat with Castle Dale City Mayor Danny Van Wagoner about the city’s upcoming June Jamboree, which is scheduled for Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.
First, we talked about the first day of the celebration, with Mayor VanWagoner explaining the day’s events. Starting with the two-dollar BBQ on Friday at 5 p.m. “ This is the best burger deal you’ve ever seen. The City Council will be there cooking up burgers for anyone who wants to come up.”
Next on the schedule is the kid’s rodeo at 7 p.m., which VanWagoner spoke excitedly about, “ It’s a super fun time, it’s a fun event. We have tons of chickens and pigs and we’re going to have them out in the arena and we’re going to let the kids have all the fun they can have. And whatever they can catch, they can keep.”
Then closing out the day is a movie in the park by the fairgrounds,” We’ve got a movie in the park and we have free popcorn.” explained Mayor VanWagoner.
Moving onto Saturday’s events, things get kicked off with a free ATV ride which starts at Cheddar Field. “ You can use a side-by-side or a four-wheeler for the ride. And when it gets done, we’ll have free hot dogs and chips,” spoke Mayor VanWagoner.
Closing out the June Jamboree is the Dirt Bike Rodeo, but that event is still up in the air due to no sign-ups. “ If we don’t get enough registrations we’ll have to cancel this event.” But Mayor VanWagoner shared how to get signed up for this event, stating,” You can come to City Hall in person, or call us at 435-381-2115.”
