Each month Castle Country Radio likes to spotlight an organization in the community that is doing a lot of good. For June we shine that spotlight on The Boys and Girls Club of Price, who are starting their summer programming on Monday, June 10. We sat down with Wynter Pendray and Viridiana Grimaldo from the club to talk about what their summer plans are.

First, we talked about the club’s core focuses, with Grimaldo explaining,” We try to hone in on three things, academic success, good character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles. We do this through a variety of activities, things like cooking, sports, art and other activities. We’re trying to make learning fun, so this summer we’re doing a program called Summer Brain Games, which focuses a lot on STEM activities as well as field trips.”

Next, we talked about costs associated with joining the program. “Our Summer membership fee is $30, and that cost does include a T-shirt,” Pendry stated.

After this, we talked about what parents should know about the program, with Pendry telling us,” The club runs from June 10 to Aug. nine for our summer programs, we are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. We also serve breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner.

At the end of our interview, Pendry talked about what the club’s theme is for the Summer.“ Our theme this year is “Club at Sea: Cruise Around the World.” We will be exploring African, Hispanic, European and Asian cultures. We’re very excited to learn and grow with your youth.”The Price Boys and Girls Club is located at 60 E 100 N in Price, Utah. The club can also be reached by phone at 435-637-6066 or on their website here.
