
The servant of God, Aspasia “Aspy” Patsy Kontgas, age 73, fell asleep in to the arms of the Lord on June 5, 2024 following a five-year struggle with dementia.
She was born May 26, 1951 in Price City, Utah to Tony and Barbara (Bavelas) Kontgas and was raised in Wattis and Price. She graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah in 1969 and from The College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah with an Associate of Arts in 1971. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Weber State College in Ogden, Utah in 1974.
Following her schooling, she moved to California and worked in various positions. Her last position was as a system analyst for First Data Bank. In 2013, she returned to live in Price and help care for her mother until her passing in 2017.
During her life in California, she was a very active member of the Greek Orthodox Church and The Ladies Philoptochos Society holding and participating in various positions.
She is survived by her siblings Angelo of Ogden, Utah; V. Rev. Father Luke George, and Sam and Deano (Shelly) all of Price, Utah; Diane of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Tracee, of Frisco, Texas; along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service, Tuesday, June 18, 11:00 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (61 S. 200 E. Price, UT). Trisagion service, Monday, June 17, 2024, 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main St. Price, UT). The family will receive friends at Mitchel Funeral Home Monday evening and Tuesday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Price City Cemetery.
