
A pair of Lady Dinos earned All-State honors on Thursday when the Deseret News released the list. The 3A-All State selections were voted on by the coaches throughout the classification.
Carbon finished the season 20-12 overall and earned a 12-2 record in Region 12 play. Their season came to an end in the one-loss bracket to North Sanpete.
The 3A Player of the Year was awarded to Elise Smith, a junior second baseman from Grantsville. Payten Bytheway, also of Grantsville was given playoff MVP honors.
Adri Abeyta, a senior, who roamed the outfield, and played first base closed out her final season with a .479 batting average with a .516 on-base percentage. She also collected 35 RBI’s and 14 stolen bases.
Kylan Sorenson, also a senior, who played third base, and also was a pitcher this season, earned second-team honors for the Dinos with a .486 batting average, and a .541 on-base percentage. In the circle, she carried a 2.96 earned run average.
