
The Emery County Business Chamber held a Lunch and Learn Event in Castle Dale City Hall on Wednesday, June 19. The main topic covered in this event was the Upcoming Emery County Fair, which will take place starting Tuesday, June 23, and running until Saturday, June 27.
Opening up the discussion on the County Fair was a series of thank you’s given by Commissioner Jordan Leonard, thanking the sponsors of the fair, as well as thanking the City of Castle Dale for letting the County use their facilities and thanking the Emery County Business Chamber for sponsoring the parade and all the help the contributed to the fair planning.
Next Suzanna Anderson, an Archive Specialist with the county spoke about the Echoes From the Past Adventure, which is a historical treasure hunt for 12 locations through Emery County. The prizes for this include a 2014 Chevy Spark, a 24 Volt Drift Kart. an E-bike and $250 in cash. More info on this event can be found here. This event goes along with the Frontier Days portion of the County Fair, which includes other events like a screening of the Castle Valley Pageant and kids crafts.
Tiffany Cowley spoke on the exhibit hall for the event, encouraging people to enter their works into the exhibits. Categories include home arts, floriculture, photography, fine arts, and creative arts. More information on how to enter can be found on the Emery County Business Chamber Website.
It was explained to those in attendance that one of the goals of the fair this year is to bring back as much tradition as they can.
Patsy Stoddard discussed the more fair oriented activities, such as the rides, attractions and vendors that would be present at the event. Other events include a free to play kids carnival by the Castle Dale skatepark and a Teen Night at Huntington State Park which will feature the Hypno Hick and a screening of “The Meg” on the water.
