John William Tomadakis, age 86, passed away June 17, 2024 in Price.

He was born August 23, 1937 in Price, Utah to William P. and Katherine Douros Tomadakis.  On April 7, 1961, he married Donna Summers in Santa Clara, California.

John graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah in 1956, after graduation he went straight to the United States Air Force where he served as an airplane electrician. After being honorably discharged, he moved from Price, Utah to California and began working for the Atomic Energy Commission, he was eventually transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada through his work. He returned to Price, Utah in 1973, where he began working as an electrician at Harmond Electric which became Electrical Contractors.  He co-owned and ran Electrical Contractors for over 30 years.

He eventually “retired” in the mid-2000s, when he began to spend more of his time doing things he enjoyed. Many of his later years farming alfalfa on the family farm, where he spent the majority of his time. One of his favorite pastimes was having people drive him around reliving old memories and talking. He also enjoyed hunting a variety of animals from pheasants to buffalo.

John is survived by his wife, Donna Tomadakis, Price; son, Marcus (Jennifer) Tomadakis, St. George; three grandchildren, Zachary Tomadakis, Logan, Brianna Tomadakis, Logan and Eric Tomadakis, St. George; brother, George Tomadakis, Tillery, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Pete Tomadakis.

Funeral service, Monday, June 24, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.  Trisagion service, Sunday evening 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday and Monday one hour prior to service.  Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
