Michael Gene Myers, Sr. age 73, of Wellington, Utah passed away Monday June 17, 2024. He was born September 26, 1950 in Ouray, Colorado to Elmer and Mildred Iris Wands Myers. He was raised with his brother, Orville Douglas, by his Uncle Albert “Red” and Aunt Velma Douglas.

He married Opal Rowena Peters June 5, 1971 in Texas Creek, Colorado. Together, they raised two boys. He worked in the gold mines in Colorado and then moved to Utah to work in the coal mines.

Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and trapping with his family. They have many wonderful memories of the time he spent doing these things with them. Mike was very giving; he was always willing to help those in need. He had many talents and loved to work with his hands. He spent hours in the garage teaching his boys how to put an engine in the car or a clutch in the old truck.

Mike loved his God Jehovah and was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on April 13, 1985. He shared the promises in the Bible with anyone who would listen.

Mike is survived by his wife Opal; his sons, Michael Gene (Lydia) Myers Jr, Wellington, Utah, Steven Edward (Heather) Myers, Sterling, Utah; his brothers, Orville (Marita) Douglas, Florence, Arizona, Richard Myers, Winter Park, Colorado; his sister, Patsy Scutchfield, North Judson, Indiana; grandchildren, Seth Myers, Bodee (Caitlyn) Myers and Emily (Kyle) Stevens; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle and aunt; and his brothers, Robert Myers, Ron Myers, and Elmer Myers.

Memorial services with be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 720 North Cedar Hills Drive, Price, Utah.
