Ronald “Ron” Jones, Jr., age 54, passed away and returned to his Heavenly Father on June 18, 2024.

He was born on April 18, 1970 to Ronald Glen Jones and Sue Kirby Jones of Orangeville, Utah. Ron started out life as a 2.8 pound newborn. Ron faced many challenges throughout his life, starting at birth.

Ron was born with an exceptional and natural musical talent. He taught himself to play the piano and the organ while in grade school. He was involved in many school activities that included his music that continued to improve throughout his life. Ron had an exceptional tenor voice and sang with the BYU Men’s Choir with Mack Wilburg as conductor. He wrote and recorded many songs of his own.

Ron completed a mission to the Toronto Canada Mission and he developed a very strong testimony of the Savior. He had many health challenges in life and endured more obstacles than most of us would ever know. Despite all of that, he stayed patient and kind. He taught many children to play the piano. He loved his family and was always concerned for them. To know him was to love him.

Ron loved to hunt for rocks and fossils. He spent many outings with Tiffany Baker and Julie Truman on the desert. Ron graduated from Emery County High School with honors and he wrote and produced a song for his graduating class of 1988. He performed it to the graduating class at graduation and it was an extreme hit.

Ron is survived by his mother, Sue Jones; sisters, Susan (Mark) McGarry and Sandra Jones; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Glen Jones; and brother, Richard “Bino” Jones.
