The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and in the Castle Valley area that also signals Huntington City’s annual Heritage Days Celebration, which kicks off on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, with the Heritage Days Rodeo. Castle Country Radio sat down with Lesa Miller to talk about the upcoming event.

Opening up our conversation, Miller talked about why people should be excited about the event, as well as talking about some of the events that will be held.“ This is the most fun little rodeo,” Miller stated,” Our events this year are barrel racing, breakaway roping, bareback, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and bulls.”

Next Miller talked about a big event on the final day of the rodeo,” On Saturday night we have a last man standing “Ring of Fear” competition.” The “Ring of Fear” is an event where participants are placed in a set boundary within the rodeo grounds, and a bull is set loose that they must avoid while also staying within their assigned boundary. This year, the prize money will be split between the last man standing, as well as a new best-of-show award winner for the participant who provides the crowd and judges with the most entertainment.

After this Miller talked about the pricing for the rodeo,” For adults to get in it’s $10, for ages 13 to 17 it’s $5, and for children 12 and under it is free.” Miller also explained that a family pass deal is also offered,” The family pass costs $30, and it covers up to five people.”

Closing out the interview, Miller spoke about what people should be excited about,” It’s just a good time. People should be excited for good, clean family fun. It’s a great rodeo. Bring the family and come see this.”

The Huntington Heritage Days Rodeo will be held Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29, with each night also featuring a dance following the rodeo. For more information on the event, you can visit their Facebook page.
