Four Corners Community Behavioral Health (FCCBH) celebrated a milestone that employees and citizens of the Castle Valley area have been anticipating, the opening of the organization’s Crisis Receiving Center. The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce in honor of this held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the occasion on Tuesday, June 25.

Executive Director Melissa Huntington spoke on the journey to make it to this opening saying,” There has been a lot of work that’s been put into making this happen. This has been a couple of years in the making.” Huntington explained the initial inspiration behind the design of the center was a trip to Tennessee where they found a program that they could shadow and try to replicate within rural Utah.

The Crisis Receiving Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are however some admittance criteria, which include:

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must be in a psychiatric Crisis
  • Must be medically stable
  • Agree to voluntary admission
  • Cannot be violent or experiencing violent or aggressive behavior
  • Must be able to complete personal care and basic cognitive tasks
  • Cannot have a blood alcohol content of more than .2

The center features six single rooms available for individual care, allowing individuals a 24-hour stay to help stabilize them from a psychiatric or substance abuse event. According to FCCBH’s website, the full range of services include,” mental health/substance use medical stabilization, therapy, case management and other services as indicated.”

The Center is located at 575 East, 100 South in Price, Utah. For more information on the Crisis Receiving Center, as well as FCCBH in general, you can visit their website here.
