Marie Burton Robbins, 77, passed away at her home in Clear Creek, Utah the night of May 31, 2024.
She was born February 21, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Seymour and Pearl Burton. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. She lived in Rose Park most of her childhood and adult life. As a child, and as an adult, she enjoyed visiting and staying with Grandma Susie Malaska and Uncle Bill Malaska at their home in Clear Creek, Utah. She eventually purchased her grandma’s home in Clear Creek and that is where she spent the last several years of her life. She loved sitting on her front porch in Clear Creek gazing upon the beautiful mountain side, breathing the fresh mountain air, and feeling peaceful.
After high school, she attended Stevens Henager College. She went to work for General Electric Company in Salt Lake City and worked there until she retired. She married Bruce Robbins and raised Bruce’s son David and his daughter Shannon. Bruce and Marie were blessed with a daughter Maghann. Marie and Maghann had a very loving relationship and could often be found together traveling throughout the world, or spending a few days at Clear Creek. Bruce and Marie divorced, and Marie later married Stephen Raymond Sleater. They were married until Stephen passed away in 2013. Maghann passed away in 2015.
Thanks to all the people in Rose Park and Clear Creek who befriended Marie and were always willing to help her in any way.
