Helper Saturday Vibes is preparing to host another edition of their biweekly street festival which features vendors, fun, and live entertainment. This rendition of the event features performances from Dosey Don’t, a Utah-based Folk Trio, and Dale’s House.

Castle Country Radio had the opportunity to talk to Richy Williams, the percussionist for Dale’s House about the band and their excitement for the upcoming Vibes event.

Opening our conversation, Williams talked about his Carbon County Roots,” During the Great Depression, my grandfather, Edgar Williams, was the music director in Carbon County. He was able to bring in band contests from all over to Price, making it a kind of epicenter for music.”

After this we talked about the band’s origins, namely the name Dale’s House. Williams explained that he and Dale Southard, the bassist for the band, had, “ been together for almost 15 years and played over 500 shows together.” Williams continued to share how the band found its name,” When we put this project together, we tried all the clever names, but eventually, I said,” Just forget it, we practice at your house so we’ll be Dale’s House.”

“We’re all over the map, we play everything from Brandi Carlile to Neil Young,” Williams explained regarding the band’s musical style,” We’re everywhere, and it takes musicians to be able to do that.”

Rounding out our conversation, Williams spoke of the excitement Dale’s House, and most other bands who perform in Helper, get to experience. “ We’ve played in Helper a couple of times, and it’s a good feeling here … Standing on that stage and looking at the cliffs, and seeing all the people supporting, it’s really cool.”

Helper Saturday Vibes will be held on Saturday, July 13 on Historic Helper Main Street starting at 5 p.m. and running until 10:30 p.m. The Dosey Don’t will take the stage first at 5 p.m., with Dale’s House closing out the evening starting at 8 p.m. For more information on Helper Saturday Vibes, you can visit their website here
