Phillip E. Lodeserto, born to Albert and Darlene Wilkerson Lodeserto on February 15, 1969, in the rugged heart of Carbon County, embodied the true spirit of a cowboy. Raised among untamed mountains, Phillip became one with the great outdoors and he rode off into the sunset on July 10, 2024.
Growing up surrounded by the mountains of Carbon County, Phillip developed a deep connection to the beauty of the terrain he loved. He was a true cowboy, leaving his mark on the land he cherished. The Lodeserto brand can be seen everywhere on the mountain; there are not many trees that can be seen without it.
For 37 years, Phillip etched his legacy at Morgantown Machine, a testament to his hard work and passion. And all who worked for Phillip respected and worked hard for him. Later in life, Phillip found his true love and best friend in Julie. Together, they shared countless stories and adventures, from Nashville to Alaska, they lived more in a few years than most couples will in a lifetime. He often spoke fondly of growing up with his boys, imparting wisdom and knowledge to them, both good and bad! His spirit will forever reside where the quakies meet the pines, next to the big rock.
Survived by his wife and best friend, Julie Hocanson-Lodeserto; his father and best friend, Albert Lodeserto; mother-in-law, Charmaine Elegante; sister, Micha (Steve); brother-in-Law, David (Molly) Hocanson. Phillip’s legacy will live on through his children: Casey (Christy) Lodeserto, Taylor (Andrew) Warnock, and Rafe Nielsen; grandchildren, Braxton, Harrison, Preston Kruz, BrynLeigh, and Aria carry his rugged spirit forward. Countless friends who became family, aunts, nieces, nephews, and the rugged landscape he loved mourn his passing.
Preceded in death by his best friend and son, Preston Lodeserto, his mother Darlene, nephew DJ Marelli, and grandparents Jerry and Minni Lodeserto and Ervin and LaVern Wilkerson.
Until we meet again, Phillip, ride high on that saddle. You will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in our weathered hearts.
“It’s been one hell of a party!”
Per Phillips request, there will be no services but drink a Busch Light in his honor. There will be a celebration of life for friends and family on the mountain, Saturday, August 17, 2024. Please contact the family for additional service times. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to ALS Rocky Mountain Foundation, Tim Gleason Foundation or to Autism Speaks.
