It’s another exciting week of Price Culture Connection, after last week’s rousing success with Waylon, Willie, and Cash: A Tribute to the Highwaymen, the weekly event welcomes in The Deltaz, a pair of brothers playing music inspired by heavy blues, roots rock and classic country on Thursday, July 18.

Castle Country Radio sat down with event organizer Layne Miller to talk about all things Culture Connection past, present and future.

Opening our conversation, Miller spoke of the excitement being felt for the band coming again to the Castle Country Area. “ They have a lot of close followers here, a lot of people like them. In fact, I had a lady ask me after the performance last week if the Deltaz were coming. I can’t wait. So that kind of typifies how people think about them.”

A piece of trivia regarding The Deltaz is that they were the first streamed performance of Culture Connection when they had to go digital during the COVID-19 pandemic. “They had taken an old trailer and converted it into a recording studio. So they’re in this little tiny trailer livestreaming to us in Price, Utah from Bend, Oregon.”

“They do a little bit of everything, and I think that’s why locals like them so much because it doesn’t matter what your tastes are.” Miller said of the band,” Those two brothers sound really, really good together. They play it all, and they do a really good job of it, too.”

Following this, Miller looked to the future of Culture Connection, with next week’s performance also serving as a kickoff to International Days. “That’s going to be Los Hermanos de Los Andes, which is kind of a local group, but they’re dearly loved just like the Deltas are and people love them and they have been playing for years and years and years.”

Miller also took the time to reflect on last week’s Culture Connection,” That was a great concert. I estimated we had about 350 people in the park. And they were rocking the park. I watched people. There was a lot of toe-tapping and arm-swinging going on. That’s what I love about it. Entertain people, give them a good show, give them something pleasant to do during the week.”
