Castle Country Radio sat down with Tenisha Anderson, founder of the Carbon County Cat Rescue to talk about all things charity and cats.
The organization, which started in 2019, is focused on a few programs, such as adoptions, fostering cats and a Trap, Neuter, Release program which they team up with Best Friends Animal Shelter to accomplish.
Starting, Anderson provided a brief overview of what the rescue is,” So we’ve been around for almost six years now. We’re foster-based, which means that all the cats we have available for adoption are in people’s homes that volunteer to foster them until they’re ready for adoption.”
Anderson also wanted to clarify some misconceptions regarding the charity,” So a lot of people think that we have this adoption center like a shelter where you can just drop off cats and kittens, but unfortunately we are not. We are a very small group of individuals that foster these cats and kittens in our home.”
Next, we talk about the best ways to reach out and get involved with the Carbon Cat Rescue,” Fostering helps a lot. I know not everyone can. Donating, getting on our Facebook and sharing things. Even coming to our events when we do adoptions to get the word out does help a lot.” Anderson continued to say that the best way to reach out is through Facebook, as it will provide the quickest reply to questions.
