Helper Saturday Vibes continues their summer festivities on Saturday, July 27, when they hold a Helper Splash Day, which will feature a float down the freshly revitalized Helper River. Castle Country Radio sat down with event organizer Joelle Amaya to talk about all things Vibes.

Midway through the summer season, Helper Vibes has had three events and is looking forward to five more during the season. “Helper Vibes is just filled with great entertainment for all ages,” stated Amaya.

Looking toward the future, Amaya spoke excitedly about the upcoming event,” It’s going to begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Swinging Bridge there in Helper, and we will exit at the beach. CastleGate RV. They have some floats for sale and this was their way of getting involved with us, they are one of our great sponsors.”

A big part of every Helper Saturday Vibes event is the plethora of activities that are available for attendees of all ages. For the kids, Amaya explained,” So Little Learners are one of our sponsors, and they sponsor our kid’s activity booth. And this time we’ll be having a cute animal planter craft made using some recyclable items, and then we’ll also be making some friendship bracelets.” Amaya continued,” And then for the littles we have some bouncy houses provided by a local business Let’s Bounce Inflatables.”

But the entertainment aspects of the event include more than just kids’ activities, Amayah explained,” We also have added this intermission in between the bands for anybody, teenagers and up and we call it the battle bouncy balls and they’ve been a pretty big hit.”

Segueing into the bands, Amaya shared how the organizers of Helper Vibes were excited by the quality of bands they could book. Looking toward the upcoming event, the festival welcomes Salt Lake City-based punk band Johnny Tightlips and the Moab-based Meander Cat.

Amaya then spoke on a promotion that Vibes has going on exclusively on social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram.

As always, each Vibes celebration features a unique creation from Bar Manager Shayla Olson. Amaya spoke excitedly about this event’s drink,” So This time we are doing a caramel apple margarita. Shayla (Olsen), our bar manager, has been knocking it out of the park with our margaritas.”

Amaya also wanted to direct people to helpervibes.com, which not only provides a calendar of upcoming events but also provides information about what bands are performing as well as containing applications for bands interested in performing and vendors who want to participate in the event.

Closing out our conversation, Amaya left the following message with the listeners,” I just want everybody to come out and experience this on July 27.”
