It’s time for the yearly International Days celebration in Price, and along with the festivities which include parades, carnivals and vendors, come lots of live entertainment options. City Council Member Layne Miller sat down with Castle Country Radio to talk about the plethora of entertainment options available during the festivities.

Kicking things off during what would be Culture Connection’s normal time on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. will be an International Days kickoff performance from Andean folk music ensemble Los Hermanos De Los Andes. Miller spoke highly of the band’s rapport in the area, saying,” They are terrific. They have homemade instruments, a lot of flutes and homemade guitars. And they’ve played here a lot. In fact, they’ve been playing here for 20 years.”

All live entertainment will take place in Washington Park in Price.

Moving onto Friday’s entertainment options, come hear some country pop music with Bellview at 3 p.m. Then at 4:15 p.m. enjoy acoustic song covers with Brianna Grey. After that at 4:30 p.m., it’s time for some tender pop music with the Jacob Westfall Band.

Next at 6 p.m. come here a local to the Castle Country Area perform some indie folk tunes when Hyland Markle takes the stage. “Hyland’s from Helper. He’s performed for us before.” Miller explained,” He’s actually the sound guy for Culture Connection quite often so he’s really talented and does a really good job.”

After Markle, prepare for some fancy dancing with the World Dance Company and Skógafoss when they take the stage at 7 p.m. “ These guys perform dances, from all over the world. They were here last year. We loved them, so we brought them back in an expanded form.” Miller continued,” They’re really, really entertaining and enjoyable to see.”

Closing out Friday at 7:30 will be a performance from the folk fusion group Lincoln Highway.

Rounding out the celebration will be Saturday, with things getting kicked off with some 80s and 90s pop hits courtesy of Exit Strategy at 11:30 a.m.

After Exit Strategy, a group who will take the stage a few times on Saturday steps up with the Banjara World Dancers performing at 1:30 p.m. with Middle Eastern belly dancing, 2:15 p.m. with the dances of Bollywood, 4 p.m. with around the world with dance with an encore performance at 6:15 p.m. This is another group that Miller spoke highly of, saying,” They do dances from all over the world. Lots and lots of talented folks and they’re a whole troupe of dancers who come down here as a group.”

At 1:45 p.m. the Raptor Martial Arts Group will perform a demonstration of their martial arts prowess which is a mix of Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Shotokan Karate, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Boxing and Kenpo Karate.

Next Jennifer Madesn and Brian Stucki take the stage to perform “The International Language of Love” an instrumental Broadway opera at 2:30 p.m. “They’ve performed in Helper before. They never performed here. I heard them last time when they were in Helper. They’re really, really good.” Miller stated.

Then at 4:30 p.m. comes a crowd favorite as Castle Country Radio presents “Mike Huff’s Numbers Please” game show. Miller spoke about the love for this show,” That has been a fan favorite as long as it’s been going on, and we’re excited that you guys are bringing it back. There’s a lot of crowd participation, and they love that.”

To participate in “Mike Huff’s Numbers Please” you need to listen to “Mornings with Mallory” on KRPX 95.3 The Peak or “Big Dave in the Morning” on KARB 98.3 and 106.7 Kickin’ Country from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and listen for when they ask for callers for a chance to become a contestant

After the game show, enjoy a performance from Linda’s School Of Dance at 6:30 p.m. as they perform jazz, tap, ballet and modern dance. “They bring a crowd.” Miller stated,” Mom and dads come, grandmas and grandpas come, the park will be full. I guarantee you.”

At 7 p.m. you can enjoy some loop and pedal covers of pop and rock songs courtesy of Shantel Fitzgerald.

And finally closing out the festivities will be a performance from Utah’s sizzling Latin Band Senxao at 7:30 p.m. “I understand they’re a lot of fun, so we scheduled them late for all the partiers. Come and have a good time, I guarantee it,” explained Miller.

Closing out our interview, Miller spoke on the scale of this year’s International Days Celebration,” We actually sold out all the vendors, we’ve never sold out vendors before. We have like 110 vendors that are going to be in the park. The very last thing will be a movie in the park. But just before that, we’re going to have a drone show. And the drone show is going to be huge.”
