Steven Zachary Vermazen passed away May 27th, 2024 in Washington DC, at the young age of 30. Born December 27th, 1993, he was the cherished son of William and Bernadine Vermazen, and the loving brother of Patrick, John and Danielle.

Steven grew up with his parents and three siblings in Belleair Florida. He attended Clearwater Central Catholic where he was a dedicated volunteer at the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, acting as a producer and editor for their “Lifetime Legacy,” program, where he created videos to memorialize youth patients of hospice. Steven graduated CCC with honors and went on to study engineering at University of Miami. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, he briefly lived in Nashville before settling in Washington DC to live with his older sister Danielle.

During his time in DC, Steven and Danielle raised two dogs together, Luna and Lobo, threw countless outdoor dinner parties and remodeled their shared row house.

Steven worked with his older brother John at the company they founded, AVALLON Labs. There he provided expertise in his chosen vocation of software engineering, and provided his partners (including his older brother & cofounder) with a sharp-eye for critical decisions & strategic choices. He is missed by all who knew him as a partner and a colleague, and they strive to honor his legacy by carrying-on the spirit of his vision and the standards he consistently applied.

He leaves behind a loving family: his parents William and Bernadine Vermazen; his siblings, Patrick Montoya, John Vermazen and Danielle Vermazen; his maternal grandmother Francis Martinez; his nephews Justice Montoya and Braydon Pacheco.

Steven leaves behind a legacy of kindness, intelligence and empathetic spirit. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A funeral mass was held at St. Patrick’s Church, Largo, FL, at 11a.m., June 28th, followed by a memorial lunch at Serenity Gardens. Burial service will be held on August 5th, 11 a.m. Price Cemetery in Price, Utah followed by a celebration of life at the Hope Center (185 N Carbon Ave, Price, UT 84501) in Price, Utah.
